Last night I caught the Unplugged performance of Korn on MTV. I couldn't believe it, music on of all places Music Television! I like Korn, they aren't my favorites, but every now and then a girl has to have her heavy rap metal. But there unplugged performance was awesome. Sometimes all the craziness kinda shields great songwriting, and with Korn that was the case. I had never really paid attention to the songs until last night. Some really intense emotions in there songs. They also really had some interesting additions to the performances, they used all sorts of percussion, hand bells, strings, and other very peculiar intruments. Robert Smith of the cure performed with them and they did a cover of 'Creep by Radiohead. I might even have to purchase this album when it comes out and become a Korn fan.

I am a big accustic fan. I love the Foo Fighters live accustic album, Skin and Bones. Also on another note, The Killers were on Austin City Limits last night-GREAT Performance!

Go listen to some good music this weekend!

My husband and I are outdoor enthusists. We purchase alot of our gear online because it is less expensive. Most of the time, we pick out what we want, like try sizes on and stuff from outdoor stores and then order the same thing online.

Backcountry.com is a place where we get tons of our gear. I had trouble once using the card online, called them up, and talked to an actual person that spoke great english, I assumed they were from the US. They ran the card online and it went through without a problem.

They also have a live chat with gear experts online. You can click a button and someone from backcountry.com will answer your questions about different gear. And they actually know what they are talking about, they aren't just some college kid that thinks wearing Vasque and North Face gear is cool.

It is very rare to find great customer service like that this day and age. Check them out sometime. Great clothes, camping gear, and shoes.

I had a scary afternoon yesterday. My husband has been finishing the inside of his shop the passed few weekends and afternoons, putting insulation, paneling, and a ceiling up. Our puppy, Izzy B, was outside playing in the back yard. She has been outside with him while he was working since he started working on it. Yesterday, around 5:00, she decided to see what was going on under the saw horse. Before he could even see her, she stuck her nose to the paneling and her nose snout area was cut with the skill saw. Poor baby thought she was in trouble and ran to her dog house, bleeding everywhere. The husband ran in the house and told me to call Dr. Stuedeman to see if he was working and to hand him a towel. Well Dr. Stuedemen was at work and since we live only a few blocks away, we had her there in no time. She was bleeding everywhere and it looked horible. The saw got her right below her nose and just cut right around her top "lip". Thankfully it didn't get her tongue, gums, teeth, or really her nose. Her nose had a little cut on it and only required one little stitch. The rest of her lip took stitches on the inside and outside of her mouth. She was such a brave girl and now we are having to keep her from playing too much. Izzy likes to play rough and play all the time. She isn't even acting like it hurts her now. Dr. Stuedeman did such a great job fixing her up and lady at the front desk was nice for a change. I am also glad they stay open until 6:00 because I would have hated to have had to track down a vet in either Demopolis or Livingston on a Friday night. The husband feels so bad, Izzy is his baby, but he is just really glad she is ok and isn't really acting like she is in pain. But that was our scary afternoon. Hopefully this afternoon will go better!

Most of these songs are reasonably new, some are pretty old, but one thing about all of them is they are great to listen to sitting by a fire with the one you love. Open a bottle of wine, turn off the tv, and listen-you might fall in love all over again!

Something in the way she moves-James Taylor
Dreamgirl-Dave Matthews Band
Hold you in my arms-Ray LaMontagne
Love you more-Alexi Murdoch
The way I am-Ingrid Michaelson
Arms of a woman-Amos Lee
Fireflies-Lori McKenna(or Faith Hill)
Life is beautiful-Vega4
Show Me-John Legend
Closer-Joshua Radin
Ride-Cary Brothers
Do you remember-Jack Johnson
Favorite year-Dixie Chicks
Beautiful-G.Love and Tritan Prettyman
Infancy of us-Eliot Morris
Naked as we came-Iron and Wine
Wild Horses-The Rolling Stones
When the starts go blue-Ryan Adams

I know everyoe isn't going to be familar with all of these artists and songs, but they are worth checking out in my book. You might even find your next favorite song. But even if you don't like all these songs, put some music on that you and the love of your life both enjoy and relax.
