I just recieved an email from someone that works in the same company that I do asking for my participation in a 400 mile Relay for Life event. There would be different runners from both Alabama and Georgia running in a relay fashion for the American Cancer Society. I run, not enough, but I have really been kinda serious about running and working out lately. My 28th birth day will be the week before this and I have went through alot of stuff this past year. I am thinking that this will be a great way to mark the next year of my life as a new changed person. I am not the same person that I was this time last year. I just don't know if I can do this. I would be running 5 mile segments every 12 hours. It would be about 20 miles over 3 days. That is alot! I normally do not do but about 2.5 miles whenever I run. I am scared about not being able to do it and really having to have someone else pull my slack in the relay, but I know I CAN do it. I know it is a great cause. My husbands grandfather died of cancer a couple of years ago. My grandmother was diagnosed with leukemia shortly before she died. I think it is a great cause, I just don't want to fail. So what does Dlive think???? Oh and I'll also have to raise some money, and I know you'll come through for that!

I'm not a big fan of regular radio, but I was listening to 104.9Jack a few minutes ago in the work truck and I believe I heard the funnies thing I have heard in a long time. Here it is:

Al Gore-"The world has a fever"

Christopher Walken as Bruce Dickinson-"and the only prescription is more cowbell"

Wow that was some funny stuff. That little sound bite is comedic genius to me! I believe that just made my day...

I am kinda bummed out. I had this big weekend planned. Tonight, dinner at this resturant where a friend from high school is the chef, tomorrow a rock climbing class. Instead, tonight, washing the boat, tomorrow, I will be working, then working on the boat some more. My husband and I had a complete breakdown in communication and he has to work tonight and tomorrow. I couldn't be upset at him, because, I got mixed up when he had to work and he got mixed up when the rock climbing class was. Thankfully, there is another class April 21. It is the weekend after my birthday-so a nice dinner and rock climbing for my birthday. Can't beat that at all.

I am really excited about this rock climbing thing. He wasn't going to be able to climb because of his shoulder, but he was going to take pictures and be there to support me. I will be sure to post some of the non-embarassing pictures here. I have always wanted to learn to climb. This is going to be my first step in my dream of climbing a real mountain. I know I have a long way to go, but I guess you've got to start somewhere, doing something. So my countdown to April 21 has began, when you think of it, it is only a few weeks away.

At least if the sun is out Sunday and it is pretty, we are going to take the boat out for its initial outing. The dogs are going to have a blast! I hope Daisy likes the water because it is going to be a lonely summer at home alone for her if she doesn't. Izzy Bee is just itching to get in the river!

The hub and I started working on the yard yesterday. this is the first year/spring that we have a yard. Last year we just mowed and all since it was already too hot to do anything special to the yard. It looked horrible! It still doesn't look great but at least the grass is cut and weed-eated. Our back yard is impossible....it looks like gophers and beavers have taken over from all the small holes and wood chips(from the woodpile and the cedar shavings in the dog house). I raked and scooped and burned and swept until dark. We have really big plans for the front yard, it is just going to take time.

Even before I stopped working on the yard last night, the allergies started creeping up on me. Today they are here in full force. I had to get something called in to the pharmacy from the doctors office because all my meds from last spring are gone. My allergies and sinus' have gotten worse as I get older. Seriously, they didn't start bothering me until I was in my early twenties. This is really getting old! I love spring, but I hate the allergies that come with all the new grass, old dead grass, and spring pollen. It also doesn't help any that I work surrounded by nasty dust all day!

Well enough of my rambling, I still love spring! Allergies and all! I hope this weekends cold weather doesn't last long. I am going rock climbing next weekend!

For the love of God, will someone please get Wolf Bltitzer a chair. I watch 'The Situation Room' in the afternoon and really enjoy Wolf and his "reporting", but it really bothers me that he stands up all the time. Jack Cafferty has a chair, Lou Dobbs has a chair, even Sanja Gupta has a friggin chair. CNN makes poor Wolf, their former White House reporter and one of the most recognized reporters on TV right now, stand in front of that wall of TV's like Vanna White! Do we need to start an email campaign or something? Please CNN, get Wolf a chair!
